Twinmotion is free - Epic Games

What is TwinMotion?
Twinmotion is one of the easiest render engines available. The most important feature of Twinmotion is that it supports many files and works with much of the popular 3D software. While Twinmotion added a lot of new features to the 2019 version and brought many innovations, its comparison with its closest rival, Lumion, showed it still could not stop Lumion. However, that might change because Epic Games, the developer of the Unreal Engine game engine, bought Twinmotion as of yesterday.
What are the properties of TwinMotion?
Since the first release of Twinmotion, it has been among the render engines which are simple to use and have a fast and easy interface. It works seamlessly with many file formats thanks to its compatibility with Sketchup and error-free file import. Specifically, it seamlessly integrates FBX, SKP, C4D, and OBJ formats, making it easy to work in architectural visualization. It has also provided full support to Revit and ARCHICAD programs, which are BIM software, in their latest versions.
It is easy to learn and use. You can drag and drop lights, materials, and accessories, and you can change the season or weather by simply dragging a slider. With its quality texturing (PBR Textures), which is one of the main elements of quality visualization, it has more than 600 ready, high-quality free textures within its structure. In the Twinmotion scene, you can create immersive 360° videos and self-executable BIMmotion files in seconds. Also, thanks to VR support glasses, you can easily navigate your 3D architectural structures and make presentations to your customers.
How does this purchase affect the user in architectural visualization?
Previously, Unreal Engine issued a version specifically for architectural visualization to take a segment of the sector. However, this version was a problem for the most widely used Sketchup program in the architectural space, especially regarding exported files. There were problems with importing many file extensions.
Epic Games has taken a very solid step for users by acquiring Twinmotion. In the field of architectural visualization, Epic Games wants to show its own weight and take its share of this cake.
Although Unreal Engine is well-placed in industry rankings, the previous problem of file transfer and compatibility with file formats was a hurdle. Purchasing Twinmotion will allow Epic Games to solve these problems and provide a much more efficient visualization experience for the user.
